Why our rings
Why our rings
are stronger.
We have never advertised. Since 2000, nearly all our orders have come from people who bought from us before, or from the neighbours they told. What they come back for is strength.

Strong enough to roll
Rings that are small enough to roll get rolled: off the lorry, across the yard, over rough ground to the pit. Ours arrive in one piece. (The big 6½ to 9 ft rings are too heavy to roll. They go by crane.)

Steel wire inside
Reinforcing wire goes into the mould before the concrete, so it is cast inside the wall of every ring. Concrete carries weight well but cracks when it is knocked or bent. The wire holds it together.

A richer mix
We put more cement into every batch than most yards do, so the rings come out harder and denser. It costs more to make, and it is why our price is a little higher.

Cast in steel moulds
Steel gives the wall a smooth, tight face, without the rough, open patches where water gets in. That matters for a ring that will sit in wet ground for years.
How a ring is made

The mould
Two steel shells are cleaned, oiled and closed together. For soakage rings, pins are set through the shells so the holes form as the ring is cast.

Wire, then concrete
Reinforcing wire goes into the gap between the shells first. Then the mould is filled and left standing on the casting floor until the concrete has set.

Out of the steel
A large ring still in its mould. When the shells come away they leave the smooth, dense face the steel gives, and the ring cures in the yard before it leaves.

Our own lorry carries a hydraulic crane. It lifts each ring off the back and lowers it straight into the pit or onto the ring below, so you don't need to hire a crane or find people to move them. We deliver across Sri Lanka. Tell us the town when you ask for a price and delivery will be included.

Common questions.
What sizes do you make?
Ten widths, from 36 inches to 9 feet, measured inside the ring. Rings from 36″ to 54″ are 36″ high, the 60″ is 30″ high, and the 6½, 8 and 9 ft rings are 24″ high. The 40″ is also made 24″ high. There is a cover slab to fit every size.
What is the difference between a well ring and a soakage ring?
A well ring has a solid wall and lines a drinking-water well. A soakage ring has rows of holes through the wall so waste water can drain into the ground. It is used for soakage pits, usually next to a septic tank. We make soakage rings 40″, 48″ and 52″ wide.
Are your rings reinforced?
Yes. Steel wire is placed in the mould before the concrete goes in, so every ring has wire cast inside its wall.
Why do your rings cost more?
Because more goes into them: a richer mix with more cement, and steel wire in every ring. It is also why they last.
Do you deliver, and can you put the rings in place?
Yes. We deliver across Sri Lanka on our own lorry, and its crane lowers each ring straight into the pit. You don't need to hire a crane or extra labour.
